warming up exercise

When singing we warm up because

A good warm - up is by increasing the temperature and blood flow in larynx, breathing and articulators in the lips, tongue and teeth.

Huming and lip drills are important so you can feel the resonance in the face and head as well as the throat and chest.
Diction exercises are important to get the articultors of brain and ear on the same physicality.

Firstly you need to make sure you have a good posture, standing up tall, making sure that your shoulders are width apart aswell as the feet fully flat on the floor.
Making sure the head is slightly lifted up , interpreting that somebody is pulling you up.

2nd release the jaw, you need to make sure the jaw haa no tension that can cause any harm to the vocals , therefore massaging the cheeks, by rotating pushing in and down from the cheekbone. Once you have warmed up and released any tension you will find you'll open your mouth without thinking about it.

3) no smoking or drinking harmful liquids, fizzy pop, caffeine are bad and will obstruct the throat stopping you sounding your fullest. Warm tea, water is the best to drink to warm up your vocals, but make sure you don't scould the throat.

4 warming up exercises
